Join us on a private guided hiking tour up the iconic Camelback Mountain in the Phoenix and Scottsdale area! Soaring up to nearly 2700ft, Camelback Mountain is crowned as the highest mountain peak in the Phoenix/Scottsdale city limits.

Our hike will take us up nearly 1300ft in elevation gain in just over 1 mile as we work our way to this iconic summit with our total hiking mileage coming in around 2.5 miles. While not an extensively long hike from a mileage perspective, this hike is not for the faint of heart and will be a 2.5 to 3 hour hike to summit and return to the parking lot. Hikers must be prepared for this undertaking and for those that are, the challenge is fulling and the views are breath taking!

TOUR ITINERARY & UPGRADES

Camelback Mountain offers two different summit trails, Echo Canyon and Cholla Trail, that hike up opposites sides of the mountain. The Echo Canyon Trail is the iconic Camelback Mountain Summit trail but is harder, steeper and more technical (short scrambles with chain rail assistance) trail. Cholla Mountain offers a slightly less aggressive hiking experience with limited to no technical aspects but is still a challenging, heart pounding hike

Scheduled Tour Times

Tour Timing (October - April): Morning start times are flexible between 7am - 10am. Afternoon start times are available on request

Tour Timing (May - September): Morning start times are flexible between 5:30am - 6:30am. Later start times are not offered due to heat concerns

Optional Add-ons

We are able to run our Camelback mountain tours either with or without transportation from your Phoenix or Scottsdale location and cost does vary. If you choose to have transportation for your hike, your guide will pick you up and bring you to the base of the trailhead at Camelback Mountain where we will prepare for and begin our hike.

 

If you prefer to drive yourself to the trailhead, please meet your guide at the predetermined trailhead (Echo Canyon or Cholla trail) 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Upon arrival, your guide will provide you with your water and day pack for the hike as well as confirm everyone is prepared before setting off for an epic summit hike.

 

Camelback Mountain is a very popular hiking destination so do be prepared for heavily trafficked trails and for the hike to take approximately 2.5-3 hour for most groups.

Pick Up Locations

Pick up from Phoenix/Scottsdale hotel partners, VRBO's and personal residences is included in the cost of the tour. If you are outside of our normal pickup zone, you can meet at our office at 301 W Deer Valley Rd., STE 2, Phoenix AZ 85027 where will we provide you with round trip transportation for the rest of your tour.

What To Bring

Remember, our Camelback mountain tour will take approximately 2.5-3.5 hours!! Always bring water when you are planning to hike through the desert. We do provide to carry your water and any snacks, cameras, phones etc that you would like to bring on the hike. Hiking boots and athletic wear clothing are suggested but closed-toed athletic shoes are a must. Please, NO SANDALS or JEANS.   • You are the only pickup! No driving from hotel to hotel (or residence) to drop off the other guests on your tour at the beginning and end.
  • Secure storage of your belongings in your private tour vehicle.
  • Ability to more adequately accommodate special group needs including medical needs, dietary restrictions, children and elderly traveler needs.
  • Tour customizations for your desired add-ons such as Helicopter tours, hiking tours, biking tours, wine tasting etc.

Cancellation Policy (Day Tours)

All single day tours incur a 72 hour cancellation policy. Cancellations made within 72 hours of the start date of the tour will be non-refundable. Cancellations made outside of the 72 hour window will be entitled to a full refund.

Large Group Gratuity

For large group tours of 8 or more participants, we require a 15% auto-gratuity that will be charged to the credit card on file following the booking of your tour. If you have any questions, please contact our office.
